Song Boat was founded by songwriter Brían Farrell — from County Leitrim in the west of Ireland, now based in New York City.
He began playing piano after his father outbid the local priest at auction for a piano salvaged from a house fire.
Since then he has performed throughout Europe and the United States, working in studios in Ireland, Los Angeles, and New York. His music has been featured by the BBC, RTÉ, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV — and he has earned a reputation for the rarest skill in the trade: writing to a brief.
